Welcome to my website. Please use this website to access assignments for all my courses. You will find all classwork, homework, projects, and any other assignments posted at least a week in advance. All homework and projects will have a digital copy attached to them so that all students can access the information when they are not at school. Please feel free to e-mail me at email@example.com if you have questions or comments.
This is my thirteenth year teaching at James Denman Middle School. When I started at Denman, I taught seventh grade math/science and eighth grade math. This year I am teaching sixth grade math, science, and coding, and 8th advisory. In additional to my teaching duties, I am also the sponsor of the Yearbook and Robotics Clubs and the co-sponsor with Ms. Lyon for the Mathcounts Club.
I grew up in San Francisco and went to Jean Parker Elementary, Marina Middle, and Wallenberg High School. I have a BA in Psychology and a teaching credential from the University of California, Davis. I also have a MA in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Educational Technology from the University of Phoenix.
Before I went into teaching, I worked at several non-profits. I became inspired to teach when I took a course at the local community college about arts and children. I started my career as an elementary school teacher, but after getting my MA, I decided to try middle school. I am never going back to elementary.
In my free time, I love to hang out with my family, read, and cook. I really enjoy being able to curl up with a book and listen to music in the background. I have a lot of fun trying new recipes and experimenting with old ones.
Teaching middle school students is the best job in the world! At Denman, I am able to integrate my passion for learning and teach real world concepts related to science, math, and technology. I can’t imagine myself doing anything else!
